Bayside Historical Society's 25th Annual Totten Trot 5K is a Halloween-themed waterfront course in historic Fort Totten Park on Little Neck Bay in Bayside, Queens.

We're inviting community volunteers to join our Thursday evening gardening activities. Enjoy more comfortable temperatures during sessions that might be easier to fit into your schedule. Everyone from beginners to experts is welcome! Gardening tools and supplies will be provided.

This is the final week to experience Moon and Bloom, our group exhibition of East Asian art at the BHS Castle!

Come view these beautiful works up close and meet Jiae Kim, one of the featured artists. Jiae will be painting minhwa, traditional Korean folk painting, in an open studio setting, giving visitors a chance to watch her work, learn about her process, and ask questions about her art.

Jiae Kim will be on-site today, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Don't miss your last chance to see Moon and Bloom — the exhibition closes this Friday, August 14, at 3:00 PM.

Bayside Historical Society's expanded weekend hours for our "Home Front & Front Lines: 250 Years of American Service" exhibition begin this weekend. Visit The Castle in Fort Totten on Saturday, August 8, from 12:00–4:00 PM, or Sunday, August 9, from 1:00–3:00 PM, to explore this exhibition celebrating the courage, service, and sacrifice of northeast Queens residents who helped shape the American story.

NOW OPEN AT THE BAYSIDE HISTORICAL SOCIETY!

Step into the beauty of "Moon and Bloom," a new group exhibition at the Bayside Historical Society featuring the work of four New York–based artists: Beautiful_Soul, Jiae Kim, Dani Song, and Makoto Kishino.

Inspired by the enduring symbolism of the moon and the natural world in East Asian art, the exhibition brings together painting, textiles, ceramics, and mixed media in a serene, contemplative setting inside the historic Castle at Fort Totten.

Experience this special exhibition during its two-week run, and be sure to join us this Saturday, August 8, from 12:00–4:00 PM for the Opening Reception & Artist Demo. Enjoy light refreshments and get the chance to meet the artists.

Thanks to everyone who braved the heat & humidity to attend the reception for our newest exhibit last night. Visitors got a guided tour of "Home Front & Front Lines: 250 Years of American Service" and enjoyed learning about the showcased items of civic engagement and military service. Special thanks to Senator John C. Liu for taking the time to attend and mingle with guests.

Our exhibit is open to the public Monday–Friday, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additional weekend hours will be added in August.
