Holy socks! One small item…big impact. 🧦💙

In honor of our District Governor’s birthday, we swapped traditional gifts for something much more meaningful—a sock collection for Bay City Academy’s backpack program.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we collected an incredible amount of socks to help support local students in need. These simple essentials will go a long way in keeping kids warm, dry, comfortable, and confident.

It’s amazing what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped turn a birthday celebration into something truly impactful!

What an incredible Tuesday night it was for an even better cause! ♣️❤️

Our Bay City Rotary Satellite Club hosted a very successful Fundraising Euchre Tournament to support the Bay City Academy’s backpack program—with a goal of helping provide a much-needed refrigerator.

Here are a few highlights from the evening:
• 9 full tables of euchre players bringing the energy and friendly competition
• Lots of laughter, banter, and community connection throughout the night
• A special celebration for our District Governor’s (Paul Wiese) birthday—complete with singing and a toast 🎉
• Instead of gifts, we held a sock collection for the same school—what an amazing show of generosity!

It truly was a fantastic evening filled with fun, purpose, and people coming together to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who played, donated, and supported this effort—we couldn’t have done it without you! 💙

We’re coming together to support something that truly matters 💙
Bay City Academy, located in the Southend, is in need of a standing refrigerator and freezer so they can provide essentials like milk, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and more to students through their backpack and after-school programs. Many of the kids they serve are low-income, and some are even experiencing homelessness. This is where our community steps up.

Join us for a fun night that makes a real impact:

📍 The Boat House, Downtown Bay City

Our Satellite Rotary Euchre Tournament is open to everyone—so bring your friends, family, coworkers, and card partners!
Whether you’re competitive or just in it for the laughs, it’s going to be a great night for an even greater cause.

• $25 pre-registration | $35 at the door
• 21+ event | BYOB
• Light snacks provided
• Bring K–12 socks to donate 🧦
• 🏆 $200 for 1st place | $100 for 2nd place

All proceeds go toward supporting local schools and helping meet real needs—starting with this refrigerator and freezer for Bay City Academy.

This past Wednesday, in true Rotarian fashion, the Bay City Satellite Club showed up ready to serve at a local Independent Living Center. 💙

Our team brought a full taco and nacho bar, set up crafts, played Valentine-themed bingo, and shared lots of laughs. But more importantly, we shared hugs, conversations, and genuine connection.

This time of year can be especially hard. Many seniors experience isolation, and sometimes the greatest gift we can give is simply our presence.

We hope this small act of service brought smiles, warmth, and a reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Service above self — always. ❤️🌮🎉

Hello Satellite Rotary Friends & Community Partners,
We need your help coming together to make our January Service Act – Community Blood Drive a success.
👉 There are 31 appointment spots still open, and with a little collective effort, we can fill every single one.
We are incredibly honored to be partnering on this blood drive with Megan Jacobs, who originally began hosting these drives in loving memory of her dad, Gregg Bukowski. Megan has carried on this legacy year after year, honoring her dad and so many others by giving back in such a meaningful way.
Partnering with Megan was truly a no-brainer. She is the owner of Day Escape Salon and Spa on the south end of Bay City and an all-around amazing human. She hosted many of her early blood drives at her salon before expanding them to Portsmouth Township Hall. Through a natural conversation between Megan and Staci Cianek, it became clear that partnering with our Satellite Rotary Service Club could help make the January drive even bigger.
January is National Blood Donor Month, and we wanted to do something special right here in downtown Bay City. Jason McCrandall, owner of Survival Fitness, generously donated his beautiful space to host the event — and yes, there will be snacks too! 🥨🥤

🎁💙 Wrapping Party WIN! 💙🎁

This past Wednesday, about 20 incredible volunteers came together for a wrapping party to support over 30 foster kids right here in our community — and WOW did we get it done!

Gifts were sorted, wrapped, and ready in under an hour and a half. Teamwork at its finest. We kicked butt, made a big impact, and are already talking about doing it again next year 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who donated. With a last-minute push, every single item on the kids’ wish lists was purchased. That’s something really special.
