Meet one of our lovely Session 2 Camp Facilitators! ✨🎭
Sherri (she/her) is beyond excited to spend her summer making music, memories, and a little bit of theatrical magic with an incredible group of campers! After many years as a choir teacher and private voice instructor in metro Detroit, she discovered that “retirement” actually means saying yes to every opportunity to music direct, perform, and help young artists shine.
Sherri has music directed youth favorites like Freaky Friday, School House Rock Live Jr., and Youth Broadway Flights at Creative 360, and has also led adult productions including Into the Woods, Plaid Tidings and Nunsense. Whether she’s working with seasoned performers or first-time campers, her favorite moment is that spark when harmonies click, confidence grows, and the whole cast realizes, “Hey… we sound amazing!”
When she’s not enthusiastically conducting or playing rehearsal tracks on repeat, Sherri loves stepping into the spotlight herself. Recent roles include Sally in Follies, the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd (she promises she survived), and Fräulein Schneider in Cabaret. She is also a frequent performer in The Michigan Momsemble and at the Broadway Flights at Creative 360.
Sherri believes summer theater camp is about more than learning notes and choreography—it’s about teamwork, courage, big laughs, new friendships, and discovering that your voice matters. She can’t wait to make some Broadway-worthy memories together! 🎭🎶
