Healing Kits

The Pohl Children's Foundation provides Healing Kits to assist children living in Minnesota (18 years old and under) in their healing process after the loss of a parent or sibling.

The Healing Kits are broken up into six different packages - each one specifically designed to help children through the stages of grief.

These packages are shipped out over a couple of months.

Items included in the Healing Kits are:

* A box to hold all of the items below…(can be decorated)

* A “Forever Bear”…

* "The Memory Box - a Book About Grief" by Joanna Rowland

* A journal…

* A pen...

* A “Love Notes” Box…

* 988 bracelet

* “Loving Reminders” notes…

* A memory candle…

* A frame…

* Hot/ cold pack...

* Grounding items to touch, taste, feel, smell and hear…

* A stress ball…

* Kleenexes…

* A timer….

* Kids Activities packet…

* A camera…

* A pillow...

* A Bible...

* A follow-up Journal...

* Pohly, the Healing Helper...

These kits are shipped free of charge and everything is kept strictly confidential.

We are requesting the names and contact information for children (18 years old and under) living in Minnesota who would be blessed by a Healing Kit. We just ask that before submitting contact information, you alert the parent or guardian and get their permission.

Grief Companion

The Pohl Children's Foundation recognizes planning funerals or memorial services as well as attending them can be tremendously stressful times for families.

We would like to try and alleviate some of that stress for parents/ guardians and children by providing Grief Companions for the family.

Our Grief Companion volunteers will provide children and families with the special attention they need before and during the service.
