Yes, The Salvation Army was formed in 1865 by William Booth, who left the Methodist Church of England to begin ministry amongst the poor and outcast of East London, England. Today, The Salvation Army is found in 133 countries around the world. The Battle Creek corps is a part of the Great Lakes Division, which covers most of Michigan. We hold weekly religious meetings, bible studies, and a women's

The Salvation Army’s Social Services Department provides emergency assistance with rent, utilities (gas & electric), prescription medication, clothing, and food. We provide a meal Monday through Saturday through our Sally's Kitchen feeding program. Meals are served M-F from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. We also provide a weekly Youth Program. Currently the program run on Thursdays from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. We offer instructional classes in subjects such as archery, chess and sign language for children ages 4 to 18. This is a free program and transportation can be provided.
