Great run of Glow league this year! Thank you everyone for coming out and having a great time!

If anyone happens to locate the padlock on the chain for the drive up to the main pavilion at the Outdoor Center, please let us know. It appears to have grown legs and walked off. 🤷‍♂️

While something like this may seem trivial, it is somewhat of an annoyance. We have around 15 members with a specific key to a keyed lock which we now have to spend the unnecessary time and funds to replace. Every dollar we have to spend on something like this is a dollar we can no longer spend supporting the children's outreach programs in the area.

Thanks everyone!

Kiwanis completed it’s first ever PDGA-sanctioned event and it was a success. We had a surprise pro appearance with Casey White which made the experience that much more memorable. Thank you to Steve Hedstrom, NADGT, Iron Sharpens Iron, Zanfel, and MVP for an amazing event!

Hi Outdoor Center disc golfers, please leave the OB stakes/poles in place at Kiwanis. They're repeatedly being pulled out of the ground and thrown into the stream or into the rough/fairways.

We're always open to additional thoughts on how we can improve marking OB while keeping our stream banks intact and OB markings not being able to be run over by the mowers/equipment.

Otherwise, if you have concerns with the poles affecting your shots on a hole, please feel free to skip that hole.

Thanks everyone.

The 2026 Kiwanis Open fundraiser tournament at the Lakeview Urbandale Kiwanis Outdoor Center is officially a wrap.

We'd like to start by saying thank you to all of our participants. Your support of our course means a ton to us. The funds raised goes directly to supporting Lakeview Urbandale Kiwanis and the Outdoor Center.

We would also like to thank all of the volunteers who helped organize, run, and prepare the Outdoor Center for the Kiwanis Open. Timing was rough with the recent storm, but we were able to get the property cleaned up and ready to play. There are lots of unseen hours that go into the course, and these events.

We had over 80 registrants in three divisions, which we love to see. There was a lot of great disc golf, the weather was great, and we saw a lot of people having a great time. We were able to hand out a lot of prizes for our 1st and 2nd place winners as well as several CTP/LP winners.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we continue to run these outings - we are not professionals - just volunteers trying to do our best to host fun events. As always, we appreciate everyone's feedback and we'll always reevaluate how we handle events to try to make them better for everyone in attendance.

Congratulations to our top finishing disc golfers listed, as follows:

Advanced
1. Vince S
2. Zach O
3. Ben G
4. Mitch M

Intermediate
1. Chad H
2. Austin W
3. David B
4. Fransisco V

Recreational

We hope you all enjoyed the day - we will be hosting our annual open house and glow tournament this fall - hope to see you then!
