🎨High School Art 🎨

Our high school artists had the opportunity to create without a teacher-directed outcome. With a multitude of art materials available, they explored their own ideas, made creative choices, experimented, and practiced working independently—all in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Giving students space to make choices, work independently, and follow their creativity is part of what makes our school different. We believe learning happens not only through instruction, but through curiosity, ownership, and creative expression. 🖌️✨

This week, our Principal, Dr. John Hodges, and our Executive Director, Cheryl Ollmann, were interviewed by WAFB to discuss dyslexia and other reading-based learning differences.

Their message was clear: Every student learns differently, and with the right support, every student has the ability to thrive.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness, share understanding, and advocate for students with dyslexia and other learning differences.

🗺️ History comes to life in our 8th grade classrooms!

Our students are getting hands-on learning as they build maps of the Western Movement in the United States—relating historical concepts to the physical world. Our students are then taking what they’ve learned, and sharing it with the entire Middle School through an interactive bulletin board in the hallway. 💡🧠 What a fun way to spark curiosity, share new insights, and help everyone learn something new!

When students can build it, explore it, and connect it to the real world, history becomes more than a lesson—it becomes an experience. 📚✨

❤️ Dyslexia Awareness Month ❤️

This month, we’re celebrating the unique strengths, perspectives, and journeys of learners with dyslexia and other learning differences.

Dyslexia is a difference—not a reflection of intelligence or potential. By increasing awareness, promoting understanding, and providing meaningful support, we can help create environments where every individual has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Follow along all month for helpful tips, insights, and simple ways to support every learner! Let’s continue to teach our student's the way they learn! ❤️

The Class of 2027 ventured to the beautiful Broken Bow area of Oklahoma for an unforgettable experience focused on leadership, collaboration, and connection.

Students explored the area’s unique geology and stunning landscapes, from cold-water streams and creeks to swimming holes and sandy beaches. Along the way, they strengthened their teamwork skills, embraced new challenges, and made lasting memories together.

After time to relax and recharge in the great outdoors, our students returned to Brighton refreshed, connected, and ready to tackle their final year!
