It’s HERE. It’s finally HERE!!!

A major milestone has arrived for Louisiana’s student artists!

With the passage of Louisiana Act 137, high school seniors are now eligible to earn the State Seal of Fine Arts on their diploma at graduation!

This prestigious recognition celebrates students who have demonstrated meaningful achievement in the arts, including:

🎵 Music
💃 Dance
🎨 Visual Art
🎭 Theatre
🎬 Media Arts
🍳 Culinary Arts

This is an exciting opportunity to recognize the creativity, dedication, talent, and hard work of our student artists across EBRPSS!

More information is coming soon! In the meantime, students and families are encouraged to connect with their school’s Guidance Counselor to learn more about eligibility and the process for earning the State Seal.

Now, TWO questions remain:

Who will be the FIRST EBRPSS graduating senior to receive the State Seal of Fine Arts?

In time for the return of football season, marching bands at three Baton Rouge high schools are performing this fall in newly acquired uniforms, obtained thanks to a districtwide fundraising campaign launched a year ago.

Glen Oaks and Liberty high schools unveiled their new uniforms on Aug. 4 when they performed at the back-to-school convocation for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. They previously did not have uniforms at all.

Meanwhile, Woodlawn High School’s marching band is sporting newer uniforms this fall, too.
