Struggling with baby’s latch? Here are some simple check points to try first!

Check to make sure that baby’s hips, shoulders, and entire body are aligned and facing the breastfeeding parent. This is often referred to “tummy to mummy”.

Start latch out by bringing baby’s nose close to ni**le, and allowing infant to latch on their own. The Infant’s chin should rest on the breast.

Give the WIC office a call today if baby’s latch is still not feeling right. One of our certified lactation counselors would be happy to help provide more tips, or to schedule you to come in for a latch assessment!

Our WIC Food of the Month are Berries!

Summer’s here and that means it’s berry season - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and more. Let’s find out why they are considered nutritional powerhouses.

Berries are also a fantastic source of fiber, which is extremely important for digestion. This can help prevent constipation for your little ones, keeping them regulated. It also makes an excellent nutrient dense snack, promotes fullness to help avoid overeating!
