🌟 District Grant Spotlight Wednesday 🌟

The Rotary Club of Barboursville is proud to support improved literacy for children across Cabell County, WV through our latest district grant! 📚

This project focuses on expanding access to books and removing barriers that can make it difficult for parents and guardians to read with their children at an early age.

Through this initiative, they are:
✅ Sponsoring 65 local children to participate in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library
✅ Ensuring each child receives one book per month delivered directly to their home
✅ Placing at least 780 books into the hands of children and families over the next year

By investing in early childhood literacy, we are helping build stronger readers, stronger families, and a brighter future for our community. 💙

Angela Adams, President/CEO of Mountain State Centers for Independent Living, was our distinguished speaker today. She provided valuable insights into the center's operations and its new initiatives to assist Veterans Affairs, and we are grateful for their contributions to the community.

Ida Wagner, Cabell Midland High School's counselor, received recognition for her outstanding contributions, particularly facilitating the club's sponsorship of two students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership event in April, in addition to the monthly students of the month and three scholarships awarded.

Our Rotary club participated in our monthly service project on the first Wednesday and also took part in the Stamp Out Hunger initiative at the Food Bank on May 9! ❤️
