Catch Baltimore Main Streets' new mini doc, "Small Shops, Big Solutions" on the big screen this month! It features nine businesses, including Highlandtown's HarpVision! The film explores the issue of supporting local businesses throughout the year; it also offers solutions and hope for sustained, localized shopping and community engagement.

Many thanks to the Mayor's Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy and Development and Baltimore Main Streets for raising awareness about this urgent problem faced by many of our own neighborhood shops and eateries.

The Baltimore City Small Business Advancement Conference is coming up on Thurs., June 4. Hosted by the Mayor's Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy and Development, this event will feature a trade show with local and federal agencies as well as major area institutions. Head's up, Baltimore: watch out for dragons, crocodiles, gnomes, and one very large pink poodle this weekend! The American Visionary Art Museum's Kinetic Sculpture Race is this Sat. May 2 from 9AM-6PM. Wear your most outrageous outfit and cheer on 30 human-powered sculptures as they navigate water, sand, mud, and the streets of Baltimore! Be sure to plan your travel in advance as roads may be blocked for the race, especially in Southeast Baltimore. And if you're hungry, may we suggest Highlandtown Main Street lunch?
