✨ BEFORE & AFTER: From Forgotten to Fabulous! ✨
Just look at this incredible antique corner chair transformation! 😍
As you can see from the before photo, this chair was in rough shape and needed a complete rebuild. Many would have discarded it, but our talented student Marisa saw its potential and brought it back to life while honoring its original style and construction.
What makes this restoration truly special? Traditional upholstery techniques! Marisa rebuilt most of the seat using horsehair, burlap, organic cotton, and tacks, and using a hand sewing technique to complete the seat.
These time-honored methods are widely practiced in Europe but are far less common in the US due to the time, skill, and expense involved. And just look at the spectacular results!
Marisa learned these techniques through a workshop with Upholstery Education, an amazing organization offering world-class training across the United States. Their talented instructors include master artisans from England, France, London, New York, Oregon, and Washington, all dedicated to passing down their knowledge and preserving the art of traditional craftsmanship.
