FJMC International FJMC International: Friendship • Judaism • Mentorship • Community

formerly known as the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs

FJMC International’s new vision: Men will cultivate meaningful relationships, a sense of purpose, and physical, emotional, and spiritual health through communities rooted in Jewish values and brotherhood. Friendship - that is lifelong and rooted in meaningful experiences

Judaism - that is pluralistic and joyful

Mentorship - that is loving and wise

Community - that is inclusive and supportive

F

JMC provides men opportunities for personal growth and to build strong relationships. We accomplish this through: celebrating Jewish learning, traditions, and culture; gathering for social events and retreats; performing service projects; engaging over Israel; combating hate and antisemitism; mentoring the next generation of leaders; prioritizing our health and wellness; and by supporting one another in safe and nonjudgmental communities.

Beginner's Yiddish Group
Alternate Tuesday Evenings
Hosted by Al Davis
https://fjmc.org/initiatives/affinity-groups-webinars/yiddish-lite-affinity-group/

Yiddish Lite is for beginners or non-speakers – those who wish to learn a bissele (a little) Yiddish, common words and phrases), a few simple songs that maybe Bubby or Zeyde sang to you, and a vitz (joke) here and there. Participants will come away from each session with a greater appreciation of the Yiddish language and an ever-increasing Yiddish vocabulary, and building a glossary of terms as we go along.

I’m looking forward to seeing you there!

Al Davis

Being Pro-Semitic: Purell!
https://fjmc.org/2026/06/22/being-pro-semitic-purell/

What got you through COVID?
What product did you purchase so much more during COVID than you’d ever purchased before?
Besides masks. That’s right – Purell!

So here’s the story:
In 1946, Jewish-Americans Goldie and Jerry Lippman founded a little company they called, GOJO Industries in Akron, Ohio, where they developed and manufactured their product, a hand sanitizer, now a common household and industrial name – Purell.

GOJO, purchased since by The Clorox Company, continues to manufacture and distribute Purell, the much sought after hand sanitizer that has become the generic name for hand sanitizers (like Jello and Kleenex).

Thank you, Goldie and Jerry Lippman, for giving us that container of germ-killing gel we use after we touch the elevator button, the door handles and the playground or exercise equipment!

The deadline for the Quality Club Award applications has been extended to June 30!

https://awards.fjmc.org/quality-awards/quality-club-award/

As our June 30th deadline approaches, we request that all clubs planning to submit an application carefully review all Mandatory and Optional requirements necessary to qualify for the QCA. Over the years, the QCA review committee has learned that quite often some simple requirements often get overlooked by clubs and their QCA submission representative as the club presents and explains their many successful achievements.

Please ensure that your club’s FJMC dues have been paid. Also, be sure that your club has submitted (or updated) your club’s membership list on FJMC’s Chaverot system.

QUALITY CLUB AWARD APPLICATION AND INFO CAN BE FOUND HERE!
https://awards.fjmc.org/quality-awards/quality-club-award/

The QCA application is available at FJMC.org and you must log into the site to be able to complete it. Be sure to search Awards then look for Quality Club Awards.

Good luck to all clubs with their QCA application submissions. To be recognized as a Quality Club is a notable achievement and a source of pride for your membership.
