Next Friday. ☕

The Baltimore Coffee Collective Latte Art Throwdown is June 5 — and every dollar raised supports LGBTQ+ first responders through Responders for Pride.

This is what community support looks like in practice. A local coffee collective seeing our mission and saying: we want to be part of this.

If you are in Baltimore next Thursday — come. It is free to hang, $10 to compete. Beverages and snacks provided. We are looking for volunteers to help run food and drinks, let us know if you can help.

Doors 6PM · Vent Coffee Roasters.

The difference a liaison makes isn't policy. It's presence.

When LGBTQ+ first responders know there's a trusted person inside the department — someone they can approach without it becoming a formal process — everything changes.

We have everything you need to propose and establish a liaison position in your department: sample policy, job description, program design guide, and direct support from our team.

All free. No catch. Just the infrastructure to make it happen.

Secondary trauma is real.

When your first responder carries difficult calls home — the weight, the distance, the hypervigilance that does not switch off at the door — you absorb some of that too. Shift after shift. Year after year.

It has a name. And there is support for it.

Our monthly Partner & Family Virtual Support Group meets every third Sunday. Free, confidential, facilitated. A space where first responder family members can talk to people who actually understand what this life is like.

Nobody prepares you for what s*x crimes training actually does to you.

In Part 2 of our conversation with Christina Ellis — public safety officer and one of the most honest voices we have had on the pod — she talks about sitting through s*x crimes classes, what it triggered, and what nobody in the department was talking about afterward.

PTSI is real. The weight of what first responders are exposed to in training — not just on calls — is real.
This is the conversation the profession needs to be having.

For the partners. The spouses. The families.

The people who love first responders carry the weight of the job from the other side of it — the long shifts, the difficult calls, the person who comes home and does not always have words for what happened.
Most support programs were not built for you.

Ours was.

The RFP Partner & Family Virtual Support Group meets every third Sunday of the month. Free. Facilitated. Confidential.

Next meeting: Sunday, May 17th.

LGBTQ+ families explicitly welcome. All relationship structures. All backgrounds. No experience with therapy or support groups needed — just show up.
