Vehicles for Change HOW IT WORKS

Donations
Vehicles are donated through the generosity of individuals, as well as partnering corporations and nonprofit organizations.

Vehicles for Change is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve economic and personal independence through reliable transportation and automotive workforce training. Once an individual or organization chooses to donate a vehicle, they will be contacted by a towing company, which will pick up the car within a week. We make any necessary repairs, handle all tax

deductions, and deliver the vehicle to a family in need. Donating to Vehicles for Change is easy, convenient, and effective - your donation will have a direct impact on the families we serve. Repairs
After donation, Vehicles for Change determines if the car is repairable (keeper) based on the general condition, mileage, year, and make of the vehicle. Those deemed not repairable are sold at auction. Keepers are mechanically reviewed and repaired in the VFC garage, and then provided to a family in need. Tax Deduction
If your car is in good condition and can be awarded to one of our worthy families, you will receive the fair market value of your car for tax deduction. VFC is the one - if not the only car donation program in MD that can allow you to deduct the fair market value of your car. The average Kelly Blue Book value of cars awarded to recipients is $4,200. Sometimes, a new set of keys opens so much more than a car.

For Sherrie Levine, a University of Maryland Medical Center team member and Vehicles for Change recipient, reliable transportation has meant more time with her daughter, greater peace of mind and the freedom to get where she needs to go.
Through the Road to Relief program, transportation barriers are becoming opportunities, helping team members build stability for themselves and their families while making everyday life a little easier.

Because supporting our team goes beyond the workplace. It's about helping people thrive at work, at home and in the communities, they call home.

A new set of keys. A new sense of possibility.

Vehicles for Change recipient and UMMC team member, Cheryl McNeill, shares how receiving a vehicle through the Road to Relief program has transformed her daily routine. With reliable transportation, Cheryl no longer depends on rideshare apps or public transit, making her commute easier and giving her more time back each day.

By expanding access to dependable transportation, this program helps team members spend less time worrying about how they'll get to work and more time focusing on the people and priorities that matter most.

We were honored to have Dan Shine from Automotive News visit our Full Circle Auto Training Center and share the story of how our program is creating opportunities, transforming lives, and building brighter futures.

While it's a longer watch, even the first few minutes tell a powerful story about what happens when people are given the tools, support, and opportunity to build a better future.
