Today we were happy to participate in Fire Prevention at West Greene School. Thanks to all of the volunteers that showed up to help teach fire prevention to all the children. Friday we will be at Snow Hill Primary.

We can't thank the NC OSFM enough for their annual grant they offer to fire departments across North Carolina. This year our department was awarded $40,000.00 to purchase much needed equipment. The majority of our grant was spent on Unication G4 pagers and five Kenwood portable radios to complete upgrading our radio equipment to be fully on the VIPER 800 mhz system. With the aging low band paging system we were on, it was best to switch to a system to last us many years to come. The attached photos show the display of some of the equipment purchased this year with the awarded funds.

This evening, Tanker 45 was officially put into service. This will be a valuable asset to the Scuffleton and surrounding area that we serve. Thanks to Phoenix Sign Pros in Winterville for completing our graphics today.

Many thanks again to Towanda Fire Department for helping us obtain this tanker!

We strive to better our department for our district that we serve!
