Supporting Our Troops, One Pack at a Time!

This week, Barbara Whitehead, Director of NC PACKS 4 Patriots, attended the Ayden Rotary Club meeting to share the mission and heart behind this wonderful organization and the difference it makes in the lives of our military service members and their families.

NC PACKS 4 Patriots is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing care packages filled with comfort items, thoughtful donations, and heartfelt expressions of appreciation for the men and women who serve our country.

Their mission is a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference to those who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms. This important work is made possible through the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers who help prepare and pack donations to show our troops that they are remembered, appreciated, and supported.

Thank you to Barbara Whitehead for taking the time to educate the Ayden Rotary Club about this meaningful mission, and thank you to NC PACKS 4 Patriots for continuing to serve those who serve us!

Ayden-Grifton Interact Club | Learning from Our Community!

At this month’s Ayden-Grifton Interact Club meeting, we were excited to welcome guest speakers Doug Boone, Electric Distribution Engineer, and Juanita Sims, Human Resources Business Partner, from Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC)!

Our students had the opportunity to learn about the many career pathways available at GUC, including administration, information technology, electrical engineering, and other technical and professional careers. They gained valuable insight into the different roles that help keep our community running and the many opportunities available right here in our local area.

Experiences like these give our students the chance to connect classroom learning with real-world careers, ask questions, explore future possibilities, and hear firsthand from professionals who are making a difference every day. Learning directly from local leaders helps students better understand the skills, education, and experiences that can open doors to future success.

A huge THANK YOU to Doug Boone, Juanita Sims, and Greenville Utilities Commission for taking the time to invest in our students, share your knowledge, and encourage the next generation of leaders! We are grateful for the continued support of our local professionals and community partners who help make learning meaningful beyond the classroom.

The Ayden Rotary Club was honored to welcome our District Governor, Sophie Szymeczek!

Sophie spoke about lasting-impact projects and telling the story of our service. As Rotarians, we tend to be modest about what we do, but sharing our stories helps others see the difference service makes in our communities. People who serve are simply looking for ways to help, make connections, and leave their communities a little better than they found them. So, keep telling the story!

We were also happy to have two of our Interact students, Nick Russell and Zachary Loftin, join us for this special meeting! It's always encouraging to see the next generation getting involved in service and learning how they can make a difference in their community.

We’re proud that the Ayden Rotary Club checks so many boxes when it comes to serving our community, supporting those in need, and making a positive, lasting impact. Every project, every helping hand, and every act of service matters!

We’re also reminded that Rotary continues to lead the fight to end polio worldwide, a mission that began in 1983. With more than $2.7 billion contributed by Rotarians, this global effort shows what’s possible when people come together for a common cause. The fight isn’t over, and we must keep making a difference!

🌎 October 24, 2026, is World Polio Day. It’s a time to raise awareness, celebrate the progress made, and renew our commitment to a polio-free world.

Together, we can continue to make a lasting impact, locally and around the world. ❤️

Another Engaging Rotary Meeting!

Fellow Rotarian Yolanda Brickhouse came ready to make an impact, joined by Janet Drueschler, Grifton School AVID Coordinator, at this week’s meeting!

Janet engaged Rotary Club members with an interactive exercise that got everyone thinking, participating, and connecting. It was a wonderful reminder that meaningful engagement can spark fresh ideas, strengthen relationships, and inspire us to continue growing together.

Thank you, Yolanda and Janet, for bringing energy, purpose, and enthusiasm to our meeting! Moments like these make our Rotary gatherings more than meetings, they’re opportunities to connect, learn, and serve with greater impact.

Thank you, Town of Ayden!

We’d like to give a big thank you to the Town of Ayden for helping us share the Ayden Rotary Club message throughout our community by putting up our Rotary signs!

These signs are a great way to let our community know that Rotary meets right here in Ayden, bringing local people together to serve, connect, and make a difference in our town and beyond.

We’re grateful for the support of our town and proud to be part of a community that believes in Service Above Self.

Celebrating our students and our community!

During our regular Ayden Rotary Club meeting, our members were joined by current and former Interact Club members to assemble Student of the Month goody bags for students at Ayden Elementary School and Ayden Middle School.

It was a fun way to combine fellowship and service while celebrating the accomplishments of our students and supporting our local schools. We’re proud to be part of a community that comes together to recognize and encourage our young people!

What an exciting Rotary Club meeting!

We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Kirby Maness, Principal of Ayden-Grifton High School and a member of the Ayden Rotary Club, along with Assistant Principal Ryan Stockdale, as our guest speakers. They shared some fantastic news about the tremendous growth happening at Ayden-Grifton High School including the school earning a B grade for the first time in its history!

They also shared all of the exciting new programs and opportunities available to our Ayden students. From the addition of FFA, which will be expanded through a recent grant received, to the STEM program, trades programs, and expansion of the culinary kitchen, Ayden-Grifton High School is creating even more opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop hands-on skills, and prepare for their futures.

It’s exciting to see the continued growth and investment in our students and to hear about the many ways Ayden-Grifton is expanding what’s possible for our young people.

Ayden-Grifton High School is the best and Ayden & Grifton schools are one of the best-kept secrets in Pitt County!

We’re proud of our students, educators, and school leadership and grateful to Dr. Maness and Mr. Stockdale for sharing all the exciting things happening at Ayden-Grifton with our Rotary Club!

What an exciting start to the 2026–2027 year for the Ayden-Grifton Interact Club!

We held our 1st meeting of the new year and had a fantastic evening learning more about Interact and its commitment to service, leadership, friendship, and making a difference in our community. We also elected our officers and are excited for all that this year has in store!
