He’s probably going to kill me for posting this, but if everyone would keep one of our own in your thoughts and prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

Aydan York was working/loading cattle last night and got pinned between a bull and a fence. He was first taken to Hill Regional Hospital before being transferred to Temple. Once he arrived, doctors had to perform emergency surgery on his arm due to severe nerve damage. Thankfully, surgery went well, and as you can see in this picture, he and Assistant Chief Williams were all smiles.

Aydan still has a long road ahead with two more surgeries ahead of him, but we are thankful for the care he’s receiving and for everyone checking in and praying for him.

We love you, Aydan, and are praying for a full recovery.

The house on fire next to the ball fields is a controlled burn by the homeowners.

There is no emergency. Please do not call 911 regarding this, as it is tying up emergency communication lines that may be needed for real emergencies.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Hello Leroy/axtell

It is the EVE of a new year, the fire department would like to say happy new year , as the day continues and everyone prepares for tonight please keep in mind a couple of things,

Fireworks

Winds - 6 to 10

Ground conditions moist butt not to wet

Fire risk. High

We all know that Fireworks are fun and entertaining but please remember to choose your location and prepare it for the event, make sure the grass is very low and clear, if you plan on shooting Fireworks into the air , be mindful of wind direction and speed, in the ground, direction position and hight grass,

Having a water hose in the area is and will be useful if something was to happen,

Drinking

If you planning on drinking, please have a great time and have someone to drive you,

At the Leroy/Axtell VFD we look forward to meeting new people and saying hello to the community but we hate to meet on a bad experience, also remember our department members do not live or stay at the station and will take us a few minutes to get to you, we are all enjoying the holiday with our friends and family,

The Leroy/Axtell Vfd wishing you and everyone a happy new year, and looking forward to a great night.

If the needed our phone number is 911
