Congratulations to all K-5 students for earning their personalized awards today. We had fun celebrating what made each student unique and shine in their classrooms this year!

Our last monthly assembly for the year focused on reflection and celebration. We highlighted hard work and growth at all levels spiritually and academically. We also celebrated special area class students of the year, page turners club members, and honored each student who earned student of the month this year with the very special “heart & cross pin” from prek4-5th grade. We are incredibly proud of our students this year. Keep on shining!

Today was our last Friday morning school Mass for the year. 5th graders did an excellent job leading all roles! Then in honor of Flag Day, we shifted to our Flag Ceremony outside to hold the Ceremony of Unserviceable Flags, where students learn how American flags are properly retired when they get too torn or faded over time. Avon Veterans and Auxiliary Unit 294 members joined us to lead PreK3-5th graders during this special event. A huge thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Wallace and service dog Kenny for spending the time to rehearse and teach our oldest students not only how to follow the proper protocol to conduct this ceremony, but for taking the time to teach all of the meaning and symbolism involved to show respect to our country and to our military and veterans. God Bless America! .Agnes♥️🇺🇸

We had a fantastic guest visit and present here at St. Agnes School today: Mr. Glenn Johnson from channel 10 WHEC: News 10 NBC Rochester! He shared valuable information on the following topics: types of weather and weather systems, weather tools, storms and weather tracking, public speaking and presenting at the TV station, along with what it takes to become a meteorologist. Did you also know Mr. Glenn Johnson went to Catholic School when he grew up?? He did a cloud experiment and highly stressed to our students to keep reading books about any topics that sound interesting…because you never know what may inspire you and turn into a future career! Students asked a variety of questions related to weather and gained a ton of knowledge. Who knows…maybe we have some future meteorologists here at SAS! .Agnes♥️🌎💡

Did you hear that our students at St. Agnes School in 4th & 5th grade got to run a town for a day?? They learned how to become business professionals!

St. Agnes recently worked alongside some of our other Diocese of Rochester schools, where they experienced stepping into the real world at JA BizTown. Students took on jobs, managed businesses, made financial decisions, voted in elections, and worked together to keep their community running smoothly.

From CEOs and CFOs to government leaders and HR Managers; our students learned firsthand how businesses operate, how communities work together, and how their individual contributions help make a town successful.

What an incredible opportunity to bring classroom lessons to life and empower our students to become the leaders of tomorrow. Way to go 4th & 5th grade!

Students from several diocesan Catholic schools took part in a field trip to the Junior Achievement BizTown in Rochester June 3. Students from St. Agnes School - Avon; St. Francis-St. Stephen School, Geneva, NY; St. Lawrence Catholic School in Greece; St. Mary's School - Canandaigua, NY; Saint Pius Tenth School in Chili; and St. Rita School - Webster, NY took on various roles in a simulated community in which they practiced such adult activities as banking, voting and managing businesses.
