Avon Lions Club The Avon Lions Club has served the Avon Community for over 60 years as part of Lions International, the worlds largest service organization.

The Avon Lions Club was chartered in 1953 and is part of Lions International, the worlds largest service organization with over 1.35 million members in over 46,000 clubs representing 208 countries. The Avon Lions live up to the motto of Lions International "We Serve" through our many service projects. For the past 69 years, we have supported many different projects, including; scholarship, food fo

r the needy, eyeglasses, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, sight conservation, Avon Ambulance, Little League, Bot Scout and Girl Scouts, softball, Avon Library and our medical loan closet, just to name a few.

STEAM teacher Ian Smith brought his incredible enthusiasm from the classroom to our Lion/Child night. Ian's love for the program and for teaching was so evident as he shared some of the tools and technology that is used to teach the the Avon students the STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) curriculum. The Avon community is lucky to have Ian and we were fortunate to have him share it with us.
