Visit www.zilkergarden.org for ticket information. Themed gardens such as rose, herb, and Japanese are interconnected with streams, waterfalls, and Koi-filled ponds. The Hartman Prehistoric Garden recreates a local dinosaur habitat. This garden is a unique collaboration between The City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) and the Austin Area Garden Council (AAGC). The garden is open to

the public most days year-round and is enjoyed by over 400,000 visitors each year, including thousands of school children from Austin and the surrounding communities. ZBG is pet friendly! Please keep pets on a leash. Reservations are required for all events on the Zilker Botanical Garden grounds or in the building, including wedding or memorial ceremonies. The Garden Center Greene Room and Auditorium are available for receptions, parties, and gatherings. For availability and reservations, please call 512-477-8672

🏠🐛 Garden Gnome Grove is opening soon, and the bugs are invited!

Join us at the Opening Ceremony for a guided Bug Walk with Wizzie Brown, starting at 10:00 AM on September 19th.

Explore the garden while learning to identify common landscape and garden pests, native pollinators, and the insects that make their home in our urban landscapes. Wizzie will share practical ID tips, safe management practices, and plenty of fun bug facts along the way.

We're honored to welcome you to the Garden Gnome Grove! ✨🌿

The gnomes are coming together for a special Opening Celebration! Join us on September 19 from 10am - 2pm for an day of music, creativity, local food, and lots of gnome-inspired fun.

Come explore the Grove, follow the music, discover hidden surprises, and enjoy bites from local food trucks The Corndog Co ATX and SnoMo. We’re also excited to welcome Austin Creative Reuse, bringing their creative spirit to the celebration with recycled crafts.

🧙 Dress up if you’re feeling gnome-y! We'll have a community costume competition where the gnomiest takes it all, but you can go cozy, quirky, magical, or simply come as you are.

Look closely. This is a Widow Skimmer (𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘰𝘴𝘢), a member of the group of dragonflies known as king skimmers. 🌾

Commonly found near ponds, marshes, and streams, they've been spending their summer in the garden feasting on a variety of insects, including mosquitoes, flies, and gnats. Be sure to tell them thank you next time you see one hunting for their pesky prey through the Garden!
