Site leaders are the dedicated individuals who organize litter cleanups. Our staff will teach you how to plan your own events and lead volunteers. We'll help you secure a cleanup site of your request, or offer you one we have available.

After training, you'll also receive grabbers, gloves, sunscreen, and all the right supplies for your success!

Clean Creek Campus: your opportunity to teach students about creeks and waterways through lessons that are hands-on, interactive, and FREE!

In this program, you'll work with dedicated Keep Austin Beautiful education staff and visit a local creek. Designed for 3rd-8th graders, Clean Creek Campus also includes TEKS-aligned material to help you check all your boxes for the school year. ✔️ 📋

Today is International Dog Day! 🌍🐕

Our four-legged friends are a big part of Austin's culture. In fact, there are "more than 250,000 dogs" in our city! (Austin Watershed Protection, Scoop the P**p).

It's important to remember the impact their waste can have on our shared spaces and even our own health. When owners don't pick up after their pets, the waste can lead to algae overgrowth in waterways and the risk of salmonella and other diseases for people.

For International Dog Day, scoop the p**p! Pick up after your pet, and leave Austin cleaner and healthier for all.

And guess what: Clean Lady Bird Lake will now take place at Austin Rowing Club EVERY week on Wednesday evenings, 6 PM - 8 PM.

Check out a kayak and watch the sunset as it shimmers on the water, or enjoy a walk while you clean litter on the shoreline.

Clean Lady Bird Lake is planned in partnership with Austin Watershed Protection, ensuring you can both relax in the twilight hours and leave the waterway cleaner for all.

🌇 Sign up for Clean Lady Bird Lake this Wednesday, 6 PM - 8 PM, at Austin Rowing Club

Also, register for a cleanup at a local park, from Colony Park and Walnut Creek to Rosewood Park and the Spicewood Valley Trail. 🌳

Austin is full of incredible green spaces, and it's up to us to keep them beautiful for all.

We're already at the end of the first week of school. But our fun, FREE educational opportunities are just getting started!

Add these programs to your curriculum for the 2026 - 2027 school year:

♻️ Generation Zero Waste: Made in partnership with Austin Recycles, it features interactive lessons that raise awareness about recycling, composting, and conservation.

📦 Activity Kits: Lesson plans and materials packed in a box, available for request from our office.

💙 Clean Creek Campus: Science-based activities for 3rd-8th graders that focus on how we can best protect water quality.

Join Keep Austin Beautiful for Clean Streets Day 2026 on Saturday, September 19! ☀️

Together, we'll remove trash and recyclable material from Austin's streets and roadways.

Last year, volunteers at the Keep Austin Beautiful office removed:

🗑️ 23 bags of trash
♻️ 8 bags of recycling
🚛 45 pounds of bulk litter

Considering the difference volunteers made at that site alone, imagine what we'll accomplish across the whole city this year. We can't wait to make another impact with you on Clean Streets Day 2026!
