At the end of June, let's finish the month strong with Clean Lady Bird Lake on 6/30!

At this kayak-based event, we'll hit the water, search for litter along the banks, and beautify the waterway. 🚣‍♀️

Lady Bird Lake is an important habitat in our city, rich with everything from fish and turtles to tall birds and lush canopies. It's a shared space for both wildlife and our community, so let's work together to keep it clean! 🌎

Summertime means Clean Creek Camp!☀️🌊

Last week, Keep Austin Beautiful brought Litter Lifeline lessons to Austin Watershed Protection’s Clean Creek Camp.

After learning about the impact of litter on our waterways, campers headed out on a litter cleanup with Clean Lady Bird Lake boat partner Zilker Park Boats, helping create a more beautiful Austin for all.

Yet more fun things to do this month!

Litter pickup and sorting at the Juneteenth Parade with Austin Resource Recovery, Clean Lady Bird Lake with Austin Paddle Co, Garden Club Workday with VFW 4443. The works!

Also, help us keep our environment beautiful at ecological restoration events! Remove invasive plants at Red Bluff Preserve, and strengthen the habitat at Montopolis Fields by planting natives.

With summer sunshine comes many opportunities for you to sign up, volunteer, and beautify our shared spaces. 🌴

Check out these Zero Waste Heroes!

This school year, Keep Austin Beautiful partnered with AISD () and Austin Climate Action and Resilience to bring Zero Waste Heroes programming to Overton Elementary School, Marshall Middle School, and Eastside Early College High School.

Through Zero Waste Heroes, we engaged Austin students in learning about waste reduction, recycling, and composting, and worked with those students in applying those lessons to the world outside their door. Congratulations to Marshall Middle School teachers and students, who lead the way in creating zero waste campaigns to increase waste diversion at a school community level.

2. Giving back through community stewardship and cleanups with Overton Elementary School.
3. & 4. Eastside Early College High School learning about compost and connecting to nature through their field trip to Festival Beach Food Forest.
