As we celebrate this beautiful spring season, we’re taking a closer look at the ABCs of APF: the building blocks that Austin Parks Foundation stacks together to make our parks and green spaces better for all!

A is for Accessibility:

Accessibility is a cornerstone of the Austin Parks Foundation mission. We believe our parks are for everyone, and that’s the driving force behind our work - including our planned All Abilities Playground, coming to Onion Creek Metro Park. Learn more about the playground plans at austinparks.org!

B is for Breaking Ground:

At APF, we don’t just fund projects, we bring them to life. From blueprints to ribbon-cuttings, we turn ideas into reality. Have an idea for your favorite park? We can help make it happen through our Park Design services grants, which include General Park Consultation, Detailed Park Design, and Overall Park Planning.

C is for Community:

When you support APF, you’re supporting more than your parks and green spaces - you’re investing in your community. Your gift fuels programming that brings people together to activate our parks, which makes them safer and more welcoming for all.

When these building blocks come together, they create better, safer and more welcoming spaces for all Austinites - but we can’t do it alone! Your support makes this work possible. Make your gift to APF today: https://bit.ly/3OEzqyH

This morning Austin Parks Foundation was joined by C3 Presents, City Council members and Austin Parks and Recreation Department at Montopolis Neighborhood Park for the big ACL check presentation!

The 2025 Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) generated $8.5M for Austin’s Parks – and that money comes directly from festival-goers like you! When you purchase a ticket to ACL or enjoy a beverage at the fest, a portion of those proceeds goes right back into our parks.

Proceeds from the 2025 ACL Festival will be allocated to dozens of park projects across all 10 City Council districts. These funds support APF’s goal of providing equitable access to green spaces across all districts through park improvement projects, including It’s My Park Day, ACL Festival activations, community project design services, the community-initiated ACL Music Festival Parks Grant Program and more. Projects include but are not limited to:

🛝Chestnut Pocket Park (District 1): Playground replacement
🌼Grand Meadow Neighborhood Park (District 2): Phase 1 construction
🌳Onion Creek Metro Park (District 2): Establishing Austin’s first All Abilities Playground
🏀Sport Court Improvements (Districts 1-10): Improvements to city courts
🌱Greenbelts and Preserves (Districts 5, 7, and 8): Trail improvements and volunteer stewardship
