Mark Kwadwo was six years old when he was rescued from forced labor on Ghana’s Lake Volta, where he had been trafficked to work in the fishing industry.
Today, 20 years later, Mark is a small-business owner in Accra and proudly owns his own barbershop. His journey from Lake Volta to independent entrepreneur is more than a story of rescue—it is a story of restored freedom and a child’s life reclaimed. Mark didn’t just survive; he was allowed to dream, build, and become the author of his own life.
This year, Touch A Life is celebrating 20 years of stories like Mark’s—and we’re inviting you to be part of what comes next.
In honor of our 20th anniversary, will you consider committing to a gift of $20 per month? Your recurring support helps Touch A Life provide the stability, education, care, and opportunities our students need to become Agents of Change. A monthly gift may feel small, but over time, that consistent support can help create something extraordinary: the freedom to imagine a future and the resources to pursue it.
Twenty years have shown us what is possible when people choose to invest in a child’s future. Join us with $20 a month as we step into the next 20.
