The George Sutton Toastmasters Club was founded in Aurora, Colorado in 1979 by William Strunk. It was named in honor of George Sutton, who in 1904 in Bloomington, Illinois assisted Dr. Ralph Smedley in establishing and naming the very first “Toastmasters” club. That original club multiplied to thousands of clubs that have helped over 3 million people. Today, more than 150,000 members are active Toastmasters in clubs around the world.

August 27 winner: Steve won Best table topic for his enlightening story of why he did not need a Plan B. Hazel was our Best speaker with her harrowing story about her brother, a Lt Col in the AF who was the first to eject from an airplane! Tim won Best Evaluator award. A great meeting !

Our August 13 meeting had 4 winners: Steve won best Table topics with his humorous reasoning re: staying in jail once you end up there. Christina won Best Evaluator ! She is a thorough evaluator and one of our newest members ! Su with her last speech in Level 5 AND Donna with her first speech, the Icebreaker are tied for Best Speaker!
