We wanted to share a look back at some of our favorite moments. From hands-on art projects and cultural learning to making new friends, these kids brought so much energy and creativity every single day.

Seeing their confidence grow and their smiles light up the room is exactly why we do what we do. A huge thank you to all the families, mentors, and community supporters who made this summer so unforgettable!

Looking ahead: While the summer program is complete, we are already gearing up for our Amani Ubuntu program starting in January! Stay tuned for updates on how to get involved.

Big thanks to Dr. Vincent Gaddis for sitting down with us to share why community and cultural education matter so much! Dr. Gaddis has been an amazing partner during our summer programs, and we are so excited to have his support as we wrap up for the Amani Ubuntu program this year.

We are so grateful to sit down with Dr. Vincent Gaddis, Professor of History at Elgin Community College! Dr. Gaddis has been an incredible resource and mentor for our Cultural Enrichment Program each summer, helping young people connect with and understand the wider world around them.

As we look to highlight the impact of our program Amani Ubuntu program. We are thrilled to have his ongoing support and dedication to our community. Together, we are building stronger youth and a stronger future!

"I realized that I needed to be one of those people out here helping our youth..."

Sadiq Rasheed’s journey from facing homelessness after high school to becoming a pillar of support for Aurora’s youth and elders is a testament to the power of resilience. As a Street Outreach and Mentor with African American Men in Unity, Sadiq is dedicated to helping the next generation embrace their "inner superhero" and rise above their circumstances.

We were honored to present Sadiq with the Community Impact Award at our 25th Annual Black History Dinner. Thank you, Sadiq, for your tireless dedication to our community! 🏆
