The Supreme Court and Kay Ivey have allowed for Alabama citizens’ voting rights to essentially be dismantled, and they are systematically silencing us. When announcing this special primary, the governor stated, “Alabama knows our state is people and our districts are best.” She says this while silencing the Black and minority communities that have built Alabama. It is also interesting that our politicians have famously told us that the law is slow to get things done. We have to wait, but when it comes to demolishing the rights that Black people have historically fought for, that strong arm of the law works very fast.

The change starts with you. Election Day is approaching. Make sure you exercise your right that many before you bravely fought for on May 19th‼️

We are proud to celebrate Christian Lomack on his graduation🎓

Christian joined the NAACP because its ideas surrounding minority advocacy were desperately needed on Auburn’s campus! Through N.A.A.C.P., he believed he could make more of a difference. This organization has allowed him to build leadership skills while learning to properly advocate for the minority students within his community! We thank him for his leadership and dedication while serving as president.

Following graduation, Christian plans to pursue social work in graduate school. We are so proud and wish him success in his future endeavors!

This is an amazing opportunity to use your voice in a way that is truly amplified by a community of advocates. Being a leader within the NAACP is an honor that carries a lot of weight, as it is built on a deep history of civil rights leadership. Our chapter is dedicated to bringing those core principles of efficacy, education, and advocacy to our campus today.🗣️

While holding an executive position is a significant responsibility, it is also a rewarding commitment. These roles require active participation in summer meetings to plan the year ahead and a dedication to staying active within what is happening in our community and the world. While the President serves as the main liaison to our Chapter Advisor, the entire board works closely with them for guidance and support.
Ready to lead the change? The application link for AU Involve will be in our stories soon. If an officer role is not the right fit for you currently, general membership is always a great way to stay involved and ensure your voice is heard.‼️

If you have any questions about the responsibilities, the summer schedule, or the election process, please feel free to reach out. We are here to help!
