Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center presents “Migration,” a solo exhibition featuring the art of contemporary artist Emmanuel Gillespie. Migration is an immersive art exhibition that “marks a time between 1910 through 1970 when Black Americans moved from the Southern states to the Northern states in search of a better life. Gillespie utilizes elements of memory, history, and identity seeking in these exceptional works.” Through the matrimony of abstraction and figuration with remnants of surrealistic gestures, Gillespie’s work initiates dynamic conversations through immaculate imagery and purposeful mark making.

Exhibit opens April 12 and runs through May 4, 2024.

Closing reception and Artist talk May 4., 1-3 p.m.
