The Reading is Fundamental Initiative (TRIFI) is a non-profit community-based organization that encourages parents, college students, community leaders, and other individuals concerned with the quality of education to become personally involved with the learning process. Under the direction of teachers and administrators, volunteers are able to assist our educators in helping students to perform a
t their maximum potential academically. TRIFI targets elementary schools in low-income areas where education can often go underemphasized in the face of social and economic constraints. Our Philosophy:
"Every child can learn, let not one be left behind..." We believe that every child has the right and ability to learn regardless of race, s*x, religion, disability or economic status. No child deserves to be left behind academically. At TRIFI, we will help each student to reach their maximum potential by believing in them and motivating them to dream big and work hard to accomplish positive goals. It takes a collective body working together to educate children. At TRIFI, we understand that the responsibility to ensure that our children receive adequate and quality education does not rest on the backs of educators and administrators alone. The persistent and determined efforts of the entire community are necessary in order for our children to excel academically. "The children are our future..." The upward mobility of a society is only as successful as its minds at work. In order to stimulate the future of our society, we must consistently invest in, restore, and sustain the value of education and scholarship across the board. "We say yes to education..." As a program, a community, and society at large, it is our obligation to equip our members with the tools necessary to be productive and intellectual citizens. Education in a stimulating, caring, strong, and compassionate environment is the key to a community flourishing.
