We need help SATURDAY, September 5!

3--4p: Set up- set out, organize, and sort food and supplies
4--8p: Facilitate distribution- maintaining the shopping area, helping shoppers, and importantly, RUNNING THE CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT process! Who can help with this important task?

Saturday after 8p, we would also really appreciate volunteers for closing everything up, loading up farmer Rodrigo's trailer, etc.

It's 3:05p rn. See CJ and Josh here, working the heavy pallet machinery to unload each whole pallet at a time. And Jim is arranging the breads. And Lidia far right is arranging the vegetables.

BANANA BOXES. We need more.

It's all Connie's fault! Lol. She wiped us out --
giving us such a large amount of rescued food and drinks last night, Sunday ... which we are in the process of organizing in BANANA BOXES for display on our tables, for shoppers to shop from --
that we have used up our entire stash of BANANA BOXES, and we still need 20 more just to finish this job!

And then we will need another 20 to present other foods this Saturday: breads, desserts, etc.

If you go to Aldi, pls look at the bananas in the produce section. Consolidate and take any empty BANANA BOXES that you can gather there. Pls thoroughly and proactively show the cashier that the boxes are empty before leaving the store with them.

🍌 BANANA BOX bottoms -- we put a cardboard liner in them to cover the hole, and then we use them at Candler to display stuff for shoppers.
🍌 BANANA BOX tops -- we either
1) put a cardboard liner in them to cover the hole, and then we xfer shopper selections into them at check-out for shoppers to take home, or
2) use them for the purpose of storage: they provide a lid for the bottoms, in order for us to be able to stack the bottoms once we fill them with stuff.
