What an incredible way to celebrate 40 years of Mosaic Georgia.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Mosaic Masterpieces today and helped make this milestone so meaningful. To our keynote speaker, Charles Moody thank you for sharing your story and offering thoughtful reflections on the many parts of this work. To our wonderful MC, our sponsors, artists and survivor artists, donors, volunteers, staff, and every person who showed up and supported this work, we are so grateful.

Today was a celebration of how far we’ve come, but even more importantly, of the community that makes it possible for Mosaic to continue showing up for survivors every day.

Next Sunday, when I speak, I will share some of the lessons I have learned through my journey of healing from trauma and managing my mental health. One of the most important lessons I will discuss is my struggle with worry. Over the years, I developed an incredible need to always have something to worry about. Worry became a habit, and eventually, it felt like a need that had to be filled. Even when things were going well, my mind would search for the next problem to focus on. Last week, during an EMDR therapy session, I finally confronted this pattern. It was a breakthrough moment for me. I realized that I do not have to give my energy to endless worry. Instead, when my mind tries to latch onto something and replay it over and over, I am learning to shift my focus toward something worth celebrating. The truth is that my life is filled with moments of gratitude and celebration, both big and small. The more I recognize them, the less room I leave for unnecessary worry. Trauma affects us in ways we often do not fully understand. When we avoid dealing with our wounds, they can quietly influence our thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and overall well-being. Healing begins when we are willing to face those challenges with honesty and courage. I share my journey not because I have all the answers, but because I know there are others walking a similar path. If my story helps even one person find hope, healing, or the courage to take their next step forward, then it is worth sharing. My goal is simple: to help others heal, grow, and become the incredible people they were created to be. Morehouse College Mosaic Georgia
