We were honored to welcome Rep. Lucy McBath to the Center for Movement Challenges yesterday.

Congresswoman McBath jumped right in — putting on boxing gloves and joining our Boxing for Parkinson’s class. More importantly, she took the time to truly listen. Our members shared powerful stories about living with Parkinson’s disease, including the challenges of affording life-changing therapies, navigating insurance barriers, accessing specialized care, and the daily realities faced by individuals and families impacted by Parkinson’s. Thanks to the Parkinson’s Foundation Georgia Chapter for their leadership and advocates Paul Tucker and Jessi Keavney who spoke about the critical importance of research funding.

Congresswoman McBath and her team listened thoughtfully to our community’s concerns and expressed their commitment to advocating for those living with Parkinson’s disease. Conversations like these are critical as we work to improve access to care, reduce barriers to treatment, and ensure the voices of the Parkinson’s community are heard.
