Georgia Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce We Empower, Connect, and Champion the Neurodivergent Community in Georgia - Everyday.

Our mission is to champion neurodiversity in business and foster equal employment opportunities. We achieve this by organizing educational programs and networking events, mentoring businesses on neurodiverse hiring practices, creating and distributing informative materials, and maintaining comprehensive digital resources to support neurodiversity in the workplace. Our diverse membership, including businesses, individuals, and neurodivergent members, plays a crucial role in advancing this mission. Together, we actively participate in initiatives, share best practices, and collaborate to create inclusive and equitable work environments for all.

From the Capitol to the Community: Georgia's Disability Landscape Update

We're excited to welcome Anna Maki from Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) for an inspiring look at the State of the State of Georgia — celebrating the progress we've made for the disability community and looking ahead at what's possible next.
Georgia's disability advocates showed up big this year — pushing for stronger Medicaid waiver funding, more resources for services, and continued investment in the programs that help Georgians with disabilities live, work, and thrive in their communities. Anna will share those wins and the momentum building across the state.

She'll also speak about where our community still work has to do — including the ongoing push to expand access to NOW/COMP waiver services, strengthen support for direct service providers, and keep disability services fully funded as the state's budget priorities shift. Particular focus will be paid on new auditing requirements for waiver recipients who self-direct, as well as changes in Social Security processes including continuing disability reviews. These are real opportunities for advancement, and Anna will share how advocates are turning them into action heading into the next legislative session.

Whether you're a self-advocate, a family member, a provider of services, or simply someone who believes in a more inclusive Georgia, come be part of the conversation.

Anna will open the floor for discussion and there will be time for networking after.

You are part of the neurodivergent community if you have a diagnosis of Depression.

Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological differences—variations in how our brains are wired and function—are human variations rather than deficits or disorders.

Many people with depression do embrace neurodivergent identity as a framework for self-understanding and pride in how their brains work, even when they're also seeking treatment. Others prefer different language. Both approaches are valid.

The broader point: neurodivergence and mental health conditions exist on a spectrum, and your brain's unique wiring—however you choose to describe it—deserves recognition, compassion, and accommodation.

We had a great day at the 20th Annual Race for Autism and Fall Festival. Thank you Spectrum Autism Support Group for putting on a fantastic event. Even with a few drops of rain, the event was a huge success. We met many parents, neurodivergent adults, and professional supporter of adults.

We also ran into a number of GANCC members including Jeyaram & Associates: Wills, Special Needs Trusts & Guardianship, Annandale Village / All In, Hirt Psychology, and Edward Jones. And - of course - Spectrum!

Connecting with so many good people in our community reminds us there is so much good in Georgia.

The GANCC attended the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce North Fulton Economic Alliance "Talent and Workforce Summit" Breakfast. Over 3 hours of presentations allowed us to hear from our largest Georgia companies, government officials, education directors, and county economic managers. We learned how Georgia continues to strengthen its workforce by attracting and educating the necessary talent for our state's industry leaders. We believe people with disabilities should continue to have access to high school and college programs that are pipelines to employment. Georgia is doing a fantastic job collaborating across all stakeholders. rgent students and adults must continue to be included going into the future.
