This Memorial Day, the Sandy Springs Foundation and Sandy Springs Police Department gathered at Veterans Park to dedicate the Eddie Mobley Memorial Bench in honor of Charles “Eddie” Mobley — a Vietnam veteran, trusted businessman, and beloved member of the Sandy Springs community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared stories, and helped celebrate Eddie’s legacy of service, kindness, and community spirit. Special thanks to Donna Hiller and Captain Andrew Spears for helping make this tribute possible. 🇺🇸 🩵

The community came together in an incredible way to honor the life and legacy of Eddie Mobley.

Thanks to the generous support of friends, family, neighbors, and community members, the funds have officially been raised for the Eddie Mobley Memorial Bench at Sandy Springs Veterans Park.

Join the Sandy Springs Foundation and the Sandy Springs Police Department this Memorial - May 25th at 10:00 AM at Veterans Park for the dedication of the Eddie Mobley Memorial Bench honoring Charles “Eddie” Mobley — a Vietnam veteran, trusted local businessman, and beloved member of the Sandy Springs community.

Known to many as “Fast Eddie,” he was remembered for his honesty, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need — from longtime customers to local police officers and seniors in the community. Eddie’s former auto shop once stood on the very site where Veterans Park is today, making this tribute especially meaningful.

Community members are encouraged to attend and share stories and memories of Eddie as we celebrate his legacy of service, kindness, and community spirit. We hope you’ll join us for this special Memorial Day remembrance.

We recently presented a $4,500 check to the Sandy Springs Foundation. Inc., an organization dedicated to creating a vibrant, connected, and culturally rich city through art, music, and community events.

Their work brings life to beloved events like the Blue Stone Arts & Music Festival, City Green Live concerts, the Lantern Parade, Sparkle Sandy Springs, Juneteenth celebrations, and more — while enhancing spaces like the Performing Arts Center, City Green, and our local parks.
