Calling all justice warriors, community organizers, social workers, caregivers, and women who pour into everyone else… it’s time to pour back into yourself.

Join us next Saturday, May 23rd from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Sandy Creek Park in Athens for a powerful space of wellness, reflection, sisterhood, and restoration.

Despite everything that’s happening, I am so grateful that our organization Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement has created space for women to heal, grow, lead, and simply breathe together.

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement Women’s Wellness and Justice Cohort has become more than a program — it’s a sisterhood rooted in healing, leadership, accountability, and collective care.

Join us Tuesday, May 5th, 6PM (LTBA) for a community rally as we demand transparency and accountability.

On April 5, 2026, a 45-year-old man, Joshua Ray Silvers of Statham, Georgia, was found dead in his cell at the Athens-Clarke County Jail

This moment highlights a deeper, ongoing concern about conditions inside the Athens-Clarke County Jail:

Lack of in-person visitation and human connection

Limited transparency around jail operations and deaths

The treatment of individuals who are legally presumed innocent

The emotional and psychological toll of isolation

These are not just policy issues, they are human rights issues.
