ARMC Foundation

ARMC Foundation Community support has always been the backbone of Ashtabula Regional Medical Center.

Following the Great Train Disaster of 1876, the community came together to raise funds to build a hospital in Ashtabula. Their efforts came to fruition in 1904 when the first patient was treated at what was then known as Ashtabula General Hospital. Throughout the hospital’s history, the generosity of individuals, organizations, foundations, and businesses has enabled ARMC to provide quality care t

o the citizens of Ashtabula County. The ARMC Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the hospital, was established as a separate entity in 1994. It is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established to raise, receive and administer charitable gifts in support of Ashtabula Regional Medical Center. The ARMC Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community and business leaders and residents who are dedicated to ensuring the availability of high-quality healthcare close to home. Since its inception, the ARMC Foundation has raised and directed millions of dollars to support projects and equipment for key areas of the hospital such as the outpatient cancer center, emergency department, therapy/rehabilitation, ICU, and imaging. The ARMC Foundation has also helped raise funds to support expansions, renovations and additions to the hospital, including raising funds for the new patient care tower that opened in the second quarter of 2024. More than ever, the ARMC Foundation's work is critical to the ability of ARMC to meet the changing healthcare climate. Reimbursement from insurance payors is not sufficient to support the first-class facility our community's residents need and deserve. The efforts of the ARMC Foundation, and the generosity of the entire Ashtabula County community, ensures ARMC can meet its mission of providing quality healthcare that positively impacts the health of our region.

It’s hard to believe we just completed the final week of rotations for ARMC Academy 2026! 💙

Throughout the summer, Academy students take part in daily Lunch and Learn sessions, which allow them to interact in a small group setting with caregivers from throughout the organization. This year students had the opportunity to learn more from members of the ARMC administrative team, quality department, care management, pharmacy, lab, imaging, rehabilitation services, surgery, behavioral health unit, respiratory therapy and nursing.

These sessions give students a deeper understanding of the many opportunities available in healthcare while allowing them to ask questions, make connections, and learn from experienced professionals. Thank you to the caregivers who shared their time, knowledge and passion with the 2026 ARMC Academy class!

Our community is full of incredible people, and Rhoda is one of them. 🧸💙

Rhoda has lovingly handcrafted and donated dozens of teddy bears for children visiting the ARMC emergency department. These special bears provide comfort during what can often be a scary experience.

Her kindness is a beautiful reminder that even the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. Thank you, Rhoda, for sharing your time, talent and heart with our youngest patients. We are so grateful for your generosity!

What a wonderful day at the 11th Annual Mike Sawruk Memorial Golf Outing! ⛳

Because of the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and everyone who supported this event, we are thrilled to share that we raised over $16,000 to benefit the ARMC Cancer & Infusion Center!

A special thank you to INEOS Pigments for once again partnering with us to make this event possible. Your continued support and commitment to local cancer care helps ensure the success of this outing year after year, and we are incredibly grateful!

This outing was created to honor Mike Sawruk’s legacy of service and dedication to our community. Seeing so many people come together each year in his memory is truly special. Every dollar raised will help enhance the care and experience of patients receiving cancer treatment at ARMC.

We are also incredibly grateful to our volunteers, prize donors, and every golfer who spent the day with us. Your support continues to make a meaningful difference for our patients and their families.

Thank you for helping us honor Mike’s legacy while investing in exceptional cancer care in Ashtabula County. We can’t wait to see you next year!

Be a part of our legacy by purchasing an engraved stone or bench to be displayed in ARMC's Healing Garden!

Nature is proven to promote healing and well-being by reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and improving pain relief. ARMC's patient care tower was built on these principles, incorporating nature and natural light into the design to improve patient experience and outcomes. A dedicated Healing Garden, accessible to visitors and caregivers is featured at the south end of the new building.

To purchase an engraved stone or bench online, please visit: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/healinggardenbricksbenches/

Our ARMC Academy students have officially completed their first week of rotations! When asked about the most impactful experiences they witnessed, a few stood out:

- Code Blue
- Robotic Colectomy
- Barium Swallow Study
- Dry Needling
- Lung Biopsy
- Intubation

What an incredible introduction to the many facets of healthcare! We are excited to see what they learn as they continue their journey this summer. A huge thank you to our caregivers for making these experiences possible. Your willingness to teach, mentor, and welcome our Academy students plays a vital role in the success of this program- we couldn't do it without you!

Here's to an equally eye-opening and educational week 2!
