WOW! A huge thank you to the Ashtabula County Board of Developmental Disabilities for their incredible support of the Shea’s Downtown project!

Our goal from the start has been to create an inclusive and accessible space for everyone in the community. With this grant funding, we were able to install this wheelchair lift, as well as a universal changing table, to better serve the diverse needs of the community.

Thank you to Manda Jackson, Director of Quality and Community Outreach, for presenting this grant funding to Shea’s Downtown, accepted by Executive Director Abby Pete. We are grateful to our strategic partners for their support in this project. We can’t wait to welcome the entire community inside soon!

For a generation, Shea’s Theater was the heartbeat of Downtown Ashtabula, a thriving and bustling community. For years, Shea’s sat empty, unused and deteriorating. Seeing the true magic in the building, the Shea’s Downtown Revitalization Team were inspired to take on this project and bring back to life this historic place for the sake of the local community that held so many cherished memories of the old Shea’s. We’ve been working hard over the last 16 months on phase one of the project and we are so close to welcoming the community back inside.
