🧠 What if the biggest factor shaping your teen's confidence, motivation, and success isn't their circumstances but their thoughts?

In this week's podcast episode, I dive into the powerful connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and results, and how both parents and teens can use this understanding to create lasting change.

✨ In this episode, you'll learn:

• Why your teen's thoughts have a direct impact on their confidence, motivation, and anxiety

• How neuroplasticity allows the brain to rewire itself through intentional thinking

• Practical mindset shifts that can help both parents and teens feel more empowered and resilient

The way we think shapes the way we experience life. When we learn to challenge unhelpful thoughts and replace them with empowering ones, everything begins to change.

Your teen's graduation isn't just a milestone for them. It's a rite of passage for you, too.

As parents, we spend years preparing our children to step into the world. Then one day, the moment arrives, and we find ourselves holding pride, excitement, grief, and gratitude all at once.

Here are 3 reminders for parents navigating this season:

✨ Feel the feelings. You don't have to hold it all together. Joy and sadness can coexist.

✨ Stay present. Don't miss today's moments by worrying about tomorrow's changes.

✨ Trust the roots. The love, values, and guidance you've poured into your child are going with them.

This season isn't about losing your child. It's about witnessing them become who they are meant to be while stepping into a new chapter yourself.

If you're parenting a graduating senior or have been through this season before, what has helped you navigate the transition? Share below. ❤️

What a fun scouting adventure for our upcoming rites of passage journeys for teens this summer!

Every year, we always check the trails and explore, so we’re as prepared as possible for our guiding season.

As usual, it did not disappoint, and we couldn’t be more pumped for our first trip of the season in just 2 weeks where we’ll be leading 11 12-15 year olds on a 5 day, 4 night backpacking rite of passage adventure.

Our 2nd trip will be in July, and that’s our high school Girl’s Quest. That trip still has a few spots left, so it’s not too late to snag a spot for girls age 15-18!

These aren’t just adventures, they’re powerful rites of passage experiences that mark these important transitional moments in their lives.

Making this one small shift, can change so much.

So often we get caught up in battles trying to get our teenagers to do the things they absolutely don't want to do.

Their motivation is low and their resistance is high, and so we end up nagging a million times, getting frustrated, and sometimes completely losing it.

But what if there was an easier way, that not only helped them to do the thing, but also improved our connection with them instead of fracturing it?

Taking the time to do the task with them or even to just help them get set up with the task can make such a big difference.

This isn't to say we need to do this every single time they have a chore to do, but those big projects that just keep getting pushed back? Those might be good ones to say, "hey, how can I help?"

What have you noticed when you've kept your expectations high, but also given high support in the process?

If your teen is struggling with anxiety, low motivation, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm.

This episode is for you.

So many parents are trying everything they can to help, but underneath the shutdowns, emotional outbursts, lack of confidence, or resistance is usually something deeper that hasn’t been addressed yet.

In this episode, I’m sharing the exact 4-step framework I teach in my workshops and coaching programs to help teens build real confidence, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and a sense of direction.

We talk about:

• Why confidence and emotional regulation are skills teens can learn

• What’s actually driving the behaviors you’re seeing at home

• How mindset, emotions, nervous system regulation, and purpose all work together

• Practical ways to help your teen feel more capable, connected, and empowered

This is the kind of support I wish every parent had access to earlier.

If you’ve been feeling worried about your teen and are unsure how to help truly, start here.

There’s a shift that happens for a lot of girls right around high school.

They stop throwing themselves at things and start calculating. They get careful. They get quiet in ways they weren’t before.

Not because they stopped caring, but because they started caring too much. About what it looks like if they try and fall short. About what other people will think. About whether they’re actually enough to pull it off.

So they hang back. They talk themselves out of things. They wait for a moment that feels safer.

But the more they hold themselves back, the harder it gets to actually take action.

But here’s the thing nobody tells them: that feeling of being ready doesn’t come first. It comes after. It comes from doing the hard thing and surviving it. From being challenged in a real way and discovering that they had what it took all along.

That’s not something I can fully give a girl in a coaching session, and it’s not something a classroom can give her either.

But the wilderness? The wilderness has a way of delivering that lesson in a way that sticks for life.

This summer, Guided Passages is offering a High School Girls’ Wilderness Quest, a 7-day, 6-night Rites of Passage backpacking trip in the Marble Mountain Wilderness of Northern California, specifically designed for high school girls ages 15 to 18.

This is not just a fun adventure. It’s a structured rite of passage that combines backpacking with intentional mentorship, guided reflection, and ceremony, built around the questions that matter most at this stage of life: Who am I? What do I want? What am I actually capable of?

A parent from a previous trip described it this way: “The emotional growth that we saw from just that one week still has us in awe.”

A teen participant said: “It helps me realize that I can do hard things and push myself, and it all ends up okay.”

That’s what we’re here to help create for your daughter.

Spots are limited. If something in this post resonated, I would encourage you to listen to that, and explore this trip as the next right move for your daughter.

What if your teenager’s “bad behavior” is actually a sign of emotional overwhelm, not defiance?

In this conversation, we dive deep into teen mental health, emotional regulation, self-harm, anxiety, parenting triggers, and the powerful shifts that happen when parents learn to respond instead of react.

One of the biggest reminders from this episode:

✨ You do not have to wait for your teenager to change before your relationship can change.

When we regulate ourselves.

When we stop escalating the fire.

When we lead with connection instead of control.

Everything begins to shift.

This episode is full of practical parenting tools, hope, validation, and powerful insights for anyone raising teenagers, especially parents navigating emotional outbursts, shutdowns, anxiety, or self-destructive behaviors.

If you’ve ever felt helpless, exhausted, or unsure how to support your teen, this conversation is for you. ❤️
