Hike into the threatened Forests of our Municipal Watershed by the proposed Ski Area Expansion:
Sunday, September 16th at 9am. We will be meeting in the Shop-n-Kart parking lot to carpool up to Mt. Ashland. Expect a rigorous hike through the back-country. Wear good boots, bring water and a lunch, and expect to return by 6pm.
Please spread the word to help promote the hike. Fliers promoting the hike will be available at next Sunday's tabling event at the Co-op.

Lithia Motors is dipping into their deep pockets and donating to MT. Ashland Association who is in deep debt due to meager snowfall . Is this a wise business decision? Or is it a long term push towards an ill thought out ski area expansion? Call me paranoid but this who thing is a bit fishy....

Staggering from a low-snow winter and exhausted reserves, Mount Ashland on Thursday launched a $330,000 fundraising effort and announced a $25,000 cash gift from Lithia Motors.

Log trucks will begin hauling timber from the Ashland Watershed's Horn Gap area and exiting the city through downtown starting in mid-June.

Here we are April 1st... Thanks to the Sierra Club, there is a legal injunction which is preventing the Mt. Ashland Ski Ass's from logging right now.. When the court date which could change that is revealed we will post it here and MycoRiseUp.com... We must show up for this court hearing!! Then, if the judge decides to lift the injunction there is a chance that they could go in and start logging, until the crew flies down to SF to file for another injunction in the appeals court.. Let's stay on our toes here everyone!
