Turtles and tortoises may not be traditional farm animals, but we have a few special shelled residents here at Hoofprints! 🐢

Mrs. Summertime is our yellow-eared slider who has happily called our pasture water trough home for over two years. She’s thriving, healthy, and very much part of the family.

Then there’s Voldetorte, our Sulcata tortoise, who has been with us for three years. Sulcatas can grow to over 100 pounds and live more than 100 years — so he’s definitely a lifelong commitment! He may be small now (25 lbs), but he already has a big personality and plenty of opinions to share.

Every animal here, no matter the species, has a place to belong. ❤️

This trio came to us as part of a group of five after their owner passed away. They’ve spent their entire lives together, and we don’t plan on changing that now.

Taco the Donkey is 24 years old, Nugget the golden pony is also 24, and Ravioli the miniature horse is 18. Through every chapter of life, they’ve had each other — and now they get to enjoy safety, soft hay, and quiet days together here with us.

Meet Trooper 🤎
At 24 years young, this handsome gelding was one of the first residents here at the rescue. While he’s earned the right to take life a little slower these days, Trooper still enjoys heading out for a quiet trail ride and soaking up all the love and attention he can get.

Trooper has seen a lot in his years, and now he gets to spend his days safe, loved, and surrounded by friends. We’re so grateful to give him the peaceful retirement he deserves. Stay tuned as we introduce the rest of our rescue family — from oldest resident to newest arrival! 🐴✨ if you’d like to sponsor Trooper or come out and give him some attention shoot us a message. Elmo the emu made it to pasture! After a few weeks of settling in and getting used to his surroundings, he officially graduated to the big pasture — and he was VERY excited to meet all of his new neighbors. Safe to say, Elmo wasted no time strutting around like he owned the place! 🪶🌿
