In the coming weeks, Arlington County contractors will begin construction on a Traffic Signal Upgrade project at the intersection of Langston Boulevard and Old Dominion Drive (near 4700 Old Dominion Drive). The project, part of the County’s Capital Improvement Plan, will fully replace aging vehicle traffic and pedestrian signal equipment at the intersection, as well as upgrade pedestrian infrastructure (existing curb ramps and portions of sidewalk) to accommodate the new signal equipment. This project follows similar traffic signal improvements and upgrades along Langston Boulevard in recent years.
Some site preparation work has been underway since early July. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin on July 29 and last approximately 3 months, weather permitting.
Attached is a project letter with more details and a graphic showing the approximate work limits of the project. This letter will also be mailed to residents and businesses located near the project area. We would appreciate if you could share with key contacts in the Langston Boulevard Alliance for their awareness.
Please reach out to me or Project Manager Justin McCarthy ([email protected]) with any questions about this project.
