An Update From Our Founder...

At the end of every visit to Jamaica, on my final evening, I sit watching the sun set on the week and reflect about the successful outcomes we accomplished. This week was no different. It has been amazing in terms of everything we got done and the impact we made. I am returning home energized and planning especially since my partners in Jamaica are asking me "what's next" 🙏🇯🇲

Let's start with a summary of the small steps BIG IMPACT we made this week...

❤️ We hosted a back to school event for the children of Mt Salem in Montego Bay. We reached 80 CHILDREN with school supplies and provided food and drinks.

❤️ We presented our scholarship award for a child with outstanding grades and success. He received a certificate of excellence, a backpack with school supplies and his school fees for the year. He is ready to start at an exceptional high school on Monday.

❤️ We delivered supplies for a handicapped man living alone that will provide him some additional comfort.

❤️ We purchased goods and created food care packages for 50 FAMILIES in the community of Cacoon in Hanover parish. We visited the community to deliver the care packages which also included 50 gallons of water.

❤️ We visited The Companies Office in Montego Bay to start the process necessary to register the charity in Jamaica. There's no guarantee they will give us charitable status but we are hopeful. Stay tuned as more details become available as having this status will make it easier for us to operate on the island. We've already been warned that it is a delayed process but we remain positive nonetheless.

❤️ School supply distribution is currently happening in other communities we support in Jamaica. I posted some pictures from one of them and will continue to do so as they become available to me. We reached 380 CHILDREN in total this year.

It's been exceptionally hot this week - much more than usual - which made it challenging but we persevered and got it all done ✅ 🥵

So what's next?? I have two goals for the remainder of the year...

❤️ We would like to provide toys for 100 children between two communities at the holiday season. I've already started reaching out for help with this project so I have high hopes we'll be able to accomplish it and give the children a nice holiday treat.

❤️ I'd like to be able to send one more shipment of items I've been gradually accumulating. So I am hoping to raise enough for shipping.

Friends... I cannot adequately express my endless gratitude for your ongoing love and support. OLOH is blessed because of each and every one of you. Your support gives me purpose. And my partner and friend Floyd Garth Prezzi has breathed new life into the charity by his willingness to step up into the huge role of operations and logistics in Jamaica. He is always thinking about how to make the charity better. We are truly blessed to have him.

Love and respect from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all for keeping our mission close to yours...

One Love ❤️🙏🇯🇲

Donations are appreciated ongoing... every $1,000 raised provides 50 families with food care packages and water...this is an ongoing need and a regular project. We've been feeding families in Jamaica since we incorporated this project in 2016 ❤️🙏🇯🇲
