Football parents, let’s talk wrestling! 🤼
Want a tougher, smarter football player? Put them on the mat. Youth clinics for PreK through 5th grade start this week. No experience needed, and wrestling is open to boys and girls!
Here’s why wrestling is one of the best things a young football player can do.
1️⃣ Comfort with contact. Kids learn to handle pressure, fight for position and stay composed when someone pushes back.
2️⃣ Reaction time and instincts. One second you’re attacking, the next you’re defending. Kids learn to react and decide in a split second.
3️⃣ Tackling and body control. Leverage, hand fighting and hip positioning carry right over to blocking and tackling.
4️⃣ Accountability. Every win and every loss is earned on the mat. Kids learn to own their effort and preparation.
5️⃣ Technique over size. The biggest kid isn’t always the best. Wrestling teaches kids to compete against bigger opponents with technique and positioning.
And your kid doesn’t have to choose between football and wrestling. The two sports go hand in hand.
