🐴 The 💕 of Heartland…

A hand to hold. 🩵A safe place to explore. 🩵A horse waiting without judgment. 🩵And a child being given the space and encouragement to take the next step.

At Heartland, our work isn’t simply about spending time with horses. It’s about creating experiences where children and adults can build confidence, trust, connection, resilience, and courage—at their own pace and in their own way.

Sometimes growth looks like a big breakthrough. And sometimes, it looks just like this: walking hand-in-hand toward a horse. ❤️

Four years ago, Heartland Haven began with a vision: to create a place where horses and humans could come together to learn, grow, heal, and discover what’s possible.

Today, we’re celebrating just how far that vision has come.

📚 3 Horse Powered Reading® instructors

But these numbers only tell part of the story.

Behind every session is a person who found confidence, connection, trust, hope, or simply a safe place to be. Behind every milestone are our horses, volunteers, counselors, instructors, board members, donors, partners, families, and friends who believed in this mission and helped us grow.

From where we started to where we are today, what a journey it has been.

And the most exciting part?
We’re just getting started. 💙

At Heartland Haven, we believe healing and growth can happen in some pretty extraordinary ways. 🩵🐴

We strive to create a safe, welcoming space where everyone can come as they are — to learn, connect, grow, and heal. Sometimes the support we need comes from standing beside a horse.

Our herd, alongside our equine counselors and facilitators, are here to meet you where you are.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, confidence, trust, healthy boundaries, personal growth, life transitions, or simply the beginning of a new chapter, our horses have an incredible way of helping us slow down, become present, and discover things within ourselves we may not have been able to put into words.

There doesn’t have to be something “wrong” to benefit from time with our herd. Sometimes we all just need a safe place to reconnect, breathe, and find our footing again.

Kopper and Wyatt are proof that sometimes the sweetest friendships are the ones you least expect. Whether big or small, our horses have a beautiful way of finding connection, offering comfort, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

At Heartland Haven Foundation, we see every day how powerful connection can be—between horses, between people, and between the two. 🩵

As the sun goes down at Heartland, these two are making sure everything is exactly as it should be — dinner finished, friends close by, and one last check to see if anyone might be carrying treats. 😂
