CREATING POSITIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ANDERSON’S YOUTH…ONE STEP AT A TIME

Program Description: A dance group consisting of dancing and stepping, drilling. Responding to chants or calls, a team stomps their feet or claps hands to a base beat along with moving into different formations. we also do hip hop,lyrical,majorette stepping and drill routines, dance mime





My Name Is Byvonda Hendrix I started the Anderson Steppers Unique Diamonds in 2003 gathering 100 kids at the Anderson Black Expo event I always had a lot of kids come and go but I Narrowed it down to 50 I loved working in my community and I have a passion for kids I took an interest
in this because I wanted to keep the kids off the streets and keep them busy and giving my time back and do something positive. Im still the director of the Anderson Steppers Unique Diamonds I do behind the scenes work since then I pass it on to my daughter India Allen who now is the choreographer/Coach who has been in this position since 2005 Since 2003 until now we are still doing what we love keeping the kids off the streets. We have been in various dance competitions ,we have attended and dance at the Pacers
and Fever games,college games Circle City Classic and various parades and High school games

📣 Foster Grandparent Program Recruitment
We are currently recruiting volunteers age 55 and older to serve as Foster Grandparents in local schools and Daycares. Foster Grandparents support students by providing additional care and assistance in the classroom.

Participants receive a tax-free stipend that does not impact Social Security, Medicare, or other public benefits. Income eligibility requirements apply. Training is provided.
