Madison County Assembly No. 6, IORG (Rainbow Girls)

Madison County Assembly No. 6, IORG (Rainbow Girls) Rainbow Girls is a youth service organization for girls ages 8 to 20. Madison County Assembly meets at Mt. Moriah in Anderson, Indiana.

There are 3 stages of membership in Rainbow: Rainbow Pledges, Rainbow Girls, & Rainbow Advisors. Rainbow pledges are between the ages of 8 and 10 years old. Though they cannot become a full Rainbow Girl until age 11, they are welcomed and encouraged to participate in many activities including charity work, installations, and many other assembly activities. At this stage, the pledges enjoy the “big

sister” relationships they will form with the older girls as they work and play side by side, absorbing the positive energy that comes from being a good person inside and out. Rainbow Girls are between the ages of 11 and 20 years old. Rainbow welcomes everyone, regardless of race, creed, color or national origin. Girls can be elected to hold office, travel locally or globally, conduct speaking engagements, oversee charity projects, and participate in all facets of Assembly work. It is at this level that members gain the knowledge and experience that will help them through every stage of life. Active members over the age of 20 make up the International Rainbow Alumni Association. Invaluable to the organization, these women are respected mentors and help to guide the younger girls through their journey to reaching the “pot of gold.” They provide networking opportunities while reconnecting current members with the Rainbow heritage.

Tonight will be a table meeting, do not need to wear a dress. If your daughter is going to Great Wolf Lodge with us this weekend, she and a parent need to be there. Please bring a copy of or your insurance card for me to make a copy of, will also have forms to be signed. Thanks.

School of Instruction . $6 per person for lunch.
Need to know by 10/28 if going.
Starts @9:30, will leave lodge about 8am.

Dec 9th thru 11th
Great Wolf Lodge trip w/ Demolay
Cost will be around $20 for food
Trip is being paid for by Commandry.

Tomorrow (9/28) will be a fun night. We will have perler beads and board games. If you have anyone interested in joining, tomorrow would be a good time to bring them. We may have 2 perspective members coming to visit. We may have 3 new initiates on October 29th.

Also need a headcount for who will be able to go to Great Wolf Lodge Nov. 11-13. This is a paid for trip for the girls. If you can let me know by tomorrow evening that would be great so I can pass the info on to the person making our reservations.

So happy to see some returning girls last night as well as a new face. Exited to tell you all that we have trip to Great Wolf Lodge planned for Nov 11th. This trip is being paid for by the Commandry groups for both Rainbow and Demolay. There are some rules for the girls to get to go for free. She must attend the stated meetings and practices in September, October and November. That is 4 meetings over the next 2 months. School and family events will be taken into consideration. Participation in volunteer activities in the next 2 months will be expected also. We are doing a fundraiser this Saturday at the car show at Mt. Moriah. We need as many of our ladies there as possible. This will also be a great time to try to increase our membership. If you will be unable to make it, please send me a message and let me know. Hope to see you all there.

I took over as Mother Advisor at a time that was not the easiest for me. I have several obligations elsewhere and Rainbow puts more of a constraint on my time. When I agreed to step up, I did it with full intent on honoring my obligation to these young ladies. I am asking that each of you parents help instill that sense of obligation in these girls. They are part of a group that is very dependent on each cog to make it work. Girls who regularly miss stated meetings make it really difficult for the others to progress and grow in their ritual work. If you think of their stated meeting (ritual work) as a play, you can understand how important each person is. You can't have 1/2 of the cast missing and expect the others to carry the entire load. I would never expect a girl to put rainbow before school, but in the last 8 months there have been a lot of absences by the girls. Most times I don't get any notification or explanation. If your daughter is a current Rainbow girl and will not be able to attend on the 1st or 3rd Wednesday of the month, please let me know. You can FB, call or text. 765-621-4357. Sorry for the rant, but it is very frustrating to give up EVERY Wednesday evening to work with these girls and not even be sure if more than 1 or 2 will be there. I have enjoyed my time with your daughters and love getting to be a part of the journey and I hope to be able to continue with each of them in teaching them the lessons of Rainbow. Thank you for allowing me to be part of their lives.
