You may have heard of the SAVE Act. It was a proposed federal bill, and it did not become law. Alaska's rules for registering and voting have not changed. If you're registered, you can vote the same way you always have! Check your registration at myvoterportal.alaska.gov.

If you vote by absentee ballot, make sure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day. In rural Alaska, mail can take longer, so plan ahead and return your ballot as early as possible.

Alaska Voters Alert!

The U.S. Supreme Court today (Sept. 14) left in place a court order blocking new USPS requirements for mail-in ballots. Those requirements are NOT in effect for this election.

What the rule would have done: First — it required state and local election officials to submit voter names, addresses and ballot-envelope barcode information through a new USPS portal; and second — to use specially approved and coded ballot envelopes. Ballot mail that didn’t meet the requirements could have been refused for delivery.

What happened: The federal government asked the Supreme Court to put the preliminary injunction on hold and allow the new requirements to take effect. The Court declined.

What it means for you: Nothing changes. If you vote absentee by mail, request and return your ballot as you normally would.

Not the final word: Today’s decision concerns a preliminary injunction — it is not a ruling on whether the USPS rule is ultimately legal. The case continues.

Help us spread the word: mobilizers needed for the general election!

We're proud to support the Alaska Voter Hub's Paid Relational Organizing Program as they gear up for the general election. In the primary, this program generated 1,000+ relational contacts and reached over 700 unique Alaskans. Now, they're recruiting mobilizers for this fall's general election.

Their next outreach window starts September 28 and focuses on reminding Alaskans to check their voter registration.
