Today we celebrate two very special people on the Anniversary of your marriage. Your love, devotion, and friendship have touched more lives than they will probably ever realize. Through all these years of marriage, you have shown everyone around you what it truly means to stand beside one another as husband and wife, but also as best friends. The love and respect you share is something beautiful to witness.

26 years ago you both opened the doors of the Amen Place Soup Kitchen and, in doing so, opened your hearts to an entire community. You have changed countless lives through your compassion, kindness, and willingness to serve others. But your impact goes far beyond the people who walk through those doors for help. You have also changed the lives of the many volunteers who have had the privilege to stand beside you, learning what true humanity, acceptance, and love look like in action.

The two of you have created something far greater than a soup kitchen. You created a family, a safe place, and a reminder that kindness still exists in this world.

Happy Anniversary from all of us. We love you deeply and thank you for everything you have brought into our lives and into this community. May your love continue to inspire all of us for many years to come. ❤️

As we feed our community, we are thankful for those who feed our volunteers. Thank you for always making handmade Empanadas Maria and family!!We love you so much! Eme stands outside and is one of the many that puts the boxes of food in the cars and takes names. They always show up and take care of not only the community outside,they take care of the volunteers also. Eme and Maria put together bags of self care products and and make sure they get to the ones we sometimes can’t reach. They are selfless and never ask for recognition. Maria runs her empanadas in with a huge smile as we all try to get a hug. They deliver food and supplies to the local shelter, the Community Clubhouse,Knights Inn, and whoever they come across. They are the heart of what the Amen Place stands for. Thank you Eme and Maria🙏🏻💕
