Mohawk Valley Railway Society The Mohawk Valley Railway Society is a community of people who share an interest in railroads.

Our purpose is to encourage the study of the history and operations of railways past and present in the Mohawk Valley region. We encourage and engage in the collection, cataloging, restoration, maintenance, and display of artifacts, and model railroading, to promote knowledge and understanding of railroads among Society members and the general public.

Our purpose is to encourage the study of the history and operations of railways past and present in the Mohawk Valley region. We encourage and engage in the collection, cataloging, restoration, maintenance, and display of artifacts, and model railroading, to promote knowledge and understanding of railroads among Society members and the general public.

Join the Mohawk Valley Model Railroad Club. Learn about past railroads in the area. Currently a model railroad is being constructed at the Walter Elwood Museum (at the RAO Center) at 100 Church St in Amsterdam. Meetings are each Thursday 7 pm - 9 pm. First Thursday monthly is our business meeting, remaining Thursday meetings are work sessions. Come help us build it! New members are always welcome. Membership is currently free thanks to the Walter Elwood Museum, our generous benefactor.
