In early June, a driver lost control of his car and crashed through our cemetery fence, causing significant damage. Thanks to the cooperative efforts between the cemetery board and our neighboring B-P school, we now have new fencing that enhances, benefits, and protects both properties.

The latest cemetery newsletter is now available! In this issue, you'll read about the cemetery's only female veteran, an update on our recent project to reset and preserve leaning stones, and news of an unfortunate car accident that damaged our fence and several headstones. You'll also find a list of our generous donors whose support makes the work of our Board of Trustees possible. Every step we take helps honor the history entrusted to us and ensures the cemetery remains a place of dignity and remembrance.

Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11, an important day set aside to honor and show appreciation for ALL who have served in the United States military—in wartime or peacetime, living, or deceased. We honor and appreciate all veterans and thank them for their service. Many veterans have been laid to rest in our cemetery.

Update!! The list of donors on Page 2 of the newsletter has been updated to include the name of Rene Healey and Son Gregory. Their names were inadvertently omitted from the list. We apologize!!

The Cemetery Association is pleased to share our fourth annual newsletter!!! Our board has made amazing strides over the past few years, and we are proud of our accomplishments. Our application to install a Columbarium, an above ground structure to hold cremated remains, has been submitted to New York State for review and approval. As part of the application process, a state representative will visit the cemetery to inspect the proposed site and review relevant records to make its decision for us to proceed. Let us know if you would be interested in joining a "Friends of the Perth Center Cemetery" group by messaging us through this page. Our project to reset and straighten some of our larger and older gravestones that might pose a future danger of falling is in full swing at the time of this post. Please read about our activities and consider making a donation to assist in our ongoing maintenance and restoration efforts.

We have been contacted by some members of the community asking what is going on in the cemetery. Here's the answer!! Two years ago, our cemetery association applied for a grant to reset 44 unstable or damaged grave markers. That grant, in the amount of $40,458, was finally awarded earlier this year. Pickett Memorial Company of Gloversville, a firm well-experienced in this type of work, just started the resetting process of these markers. We are pleased to share some photos of this project.
